"Explain the word fashion

- fashion is a kind of art during which can people express themselves – their life style, their attitude to beauty and position in the society
- people have different attitudes to fashion:
- they want to express their mood
- they want to make it obvious that they belong to a certain group of people
- they want to be dressed according to the latest fashion trends
- they don’t care what they wear
- the style of clothes that people wear is influenced by different factors:
- geography and climate – people in lowlands wear different clothes than people in the mountains, we dress differently in every season of the year
- culture and religion – Muslim women have to be covered in clothes so no one can see, how do they look like
- money they have - rich people mostly want to be seen and recognized as rich
- concrete occasion – we dress differently to school and some formal occasion
- fashion aren’t not only clothes, but also hair style, make-up and accessories(such as
shoes, handbags, gloves, belts, hats, scarves or jewellery and glasses. Even cars and type of housing can be recognized as fashion.
- fashion generally tends to be very changeable - style, cuts, fabrics and designs of clothes change very quickly because dressmaking has become big business nowadays. Fashion trends often repeat but never in the same way. What is horrible today, it can be fantastic in future.
- fashion trends are closely connected with famous people (celebrities) – they are watched a lot and they become fashion icons especially among the young people. Celebrities are very powerful – they wear something one they and the next day it becomes a world trend (Madonna, Backham,…)."
