Born July 16, 1958, Michael is the second of five children. He has a brother and three sisters. His parents emigrated from Ireland and settled in Chicago, Illinois, where they established a business.
Dance was in his blood. Though (ačkoli, přestože) Michael was born in the United States, he often visited family in Ireland. His mother and his grandmother were both (obě) champion Irish dancers. His grandmother taught Michael his first few steps. He follows his heart and his dreams. Years later, these dreams become reality. When he dances in show, he always lets a loose seat (nechal volné sedadlo) for his grandmother – as a memory, because he adored (zboznovat) his grandmother a lot.
2. Beginning of Irish dance
Michael was joined to Irish dance class at the age of 11. He was very persistent (vytrvalý). He surpasses (překonávat) his classmates (spolutanečníci) in winning competitions. Michael became the first place on All-World Irish Dancing Champion to the US, when he was 17 years. At the same time Michael studied traditional Irish flute.
Following high school graduation, Michael opened an Irish dance school. In 1993, Michael was invited to dance at the Spirit of Mayo in Dublin, a unique festival of Irish dance and music. The audience included Irish President.
3. Riverdance
Riverdance was born in year 1994. River dance is the first Irish show. The surge (vlna) of energy releases (uvolnuje) atmosphere of Ireland’s history. He has gained (získat) worldwide attention (celosvětovou pozornost).
4. Lord of the dance
Then he began choreographing, producing, and directing his own production, Lord of the Dance. He risked all his money. Lord of the Dance was premiered at the Point Theatre in Dublin in year 1996. Critics say that it is „powerful", "fantastic".
His dance school is the most famous one of all schools around the world."
