"1) Why do people need education?
People need education for a better job or finding a job. Almost everyone have education, so I need education too. Having education, everything is easier.
2) Education in the Czech Republic, Great Britain and the USA
Czech Republic: In the Czech Republic we have got many grades of education. First there is nursery school or kindergarten for children of six years old. Then, there is a primary school for children from six years to fifteen years old. The Primary school is compulsory for everyone. Children study language, literature, foreign language, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, gym, Music and Art here. There is a break for lunch in the school canteen every day.
The Secondary schools are for children from fifteen to nineteen. The Secondary education is voluntary and children can study grammar school, technical school or vocational school. Then children start working or can go to university. There are private, state and church universities in the Czech Republic. So, at many universities people pay a fee.
Great Britain: The education in Great Britain is different from the education in the Czech Republic. The primary and secondary education is compulsory. Children terminate study with A – level exam and then can go to university. There are only public universities but each university is private, so people must pay a very expensive fee.
USA: In the USA, each of the 50 states has its own laws of education. Children start with education at the age of 5 or 6 years. They terminate the secondary school at the age of sixteen and then they can go to university.
3) The most famous universities
Our oldest university is Charles University in Prague. Masaryk University in Brno and Palacký University in Olomouc are also very old and famous.
Oxford and Cambridge are the oldest universities in Great Britain. The most famous American universities are Harvard, Yale University and Princeton University.
4) What should a good teacher be like?
A good teacher should understand his/her students. The teacher should be nice and neat (upravený).
5) Paid studies - yes or no?
I am on a private secondary school, so I haven’t got a problem with a fee but many people haven’t got money. I think that the university fee is very important because universities need money.
6) The advantages and disadvantages of the uniforms
Uniforms cancel social differences between students so I think – uniforms are good.
7) What subjects do I like or dislike?
I like history and philosophy and I hate mats, physics and biology."
