"The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain. It’s a sovereign state which is lying on the north-western coast of the European mainland. The country includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of the island or Ireland and many smaller islands. The UK consists of four countries- England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, which is the only part of the UK that shares a land border with another state (the Republic of Ireland). Apart from this border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea and English Channel, also known as a La Manche. Between Great Britain and Ireland lies the Irish Sea.
The UK has an area of 243 km2, making it the 80th-largest sovereign state in the world and the 11th-largest in Europe. The UK is the 22nd-most populous country with 64, 1 million inhabitants and the density of population is 255, 6/km2. It’s a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of governance. The current monarch (since 1952) is Queen Elizabeth II. Its capital city is London with population of 10, 3 million inhabitants. London is very often visited by tourists. You can see in London a lot of sightseeing, for example the Tower, Houses of Parliament, Big Beg, the London Eye etc.

As it was mentioned, the UK consists of four countries and all of them have its system of administration and other powers based in their capitals, which are: London (England), Cardiff (Wales), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Belfast (Northern Ireland). The official language is English, but there are other national languages like Welsh, Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Cornish, which are Celtic languages and Scots, which is Germanic language."
